Five current Interlochen Arts Academy students and 19 Interlochen Arts Camp alumni and have been selected as members of the 2019 National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA).

Every year, the Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute chooses musicians aged 16-19 from across the nation to fill the NYO-USA ranks. Current Interlochen Arts Academy students Miranda Lucas, Alexis DePaolo, Carys Sutherland, Jakob Schoenfeld, and Rebekah Hou, along with their Camp alumni peers, will join conductor Sir Antonio Pappano during their three-week training residency and European tour.

Additionally, 12 Interlochen Arts Camp alumni are amongst this year’s roster of NYO2 musicians. NYO2 selects talented musicians aged 14–17 with a particular focus on students from groups underserved by and underrepresented in the classical orchestral field. NYO2 musicians work closely with players from American orchestras and conservatories during their residency at Purchase College, SUNY, in addition to their performances.

Congrats to all of our students and alumni!
