The advanced bassoon institute is an outstanding summer program for experienced young players. You will spend a week of intensive study with a distinguished faculty of performers and educators. With an enrollment limit of 12, you'll get personalized instruction and the opportunity to perform in master classes.
Below are examples of past instructors; new faculty will be announced in spring.
The goal of advanced bassoon institute is to prepare you for further study at the college or conservatory level. - Sonata repertoire
- Milde concert studies
In reed making sessions, you will learn how to improve your reed scraping technique.
In addition, you will participate in the large bassoon ensemble and have practice time and ensemble rehearsals. You will also attend inspiring performances presented by our accomplished faculty.
Please submit the following three selections:
Audio or video file #1: Weber – Concerto in F Movement 1 exposition
Audio or video file #2: Milde – Concert Study No. 29
