On Sunday, July 7, the Interlochen Festival Choir traveled to Bay Harbor, Michigan, to perform at opening gala of the Great Lakes Center for the Arts.
Joining the choir for the performance were the Detroit Symphony Orchestra; violinist Yesong Sophie Lee; ballerina Simone Messmer; and Broadway star and Interlochen alumna Rachel Eskanazi-Gold (IAC 03-09, IAA 10-11). The choir joined the orchestra for a performance of Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture.” The Festival Choir is comprised of members of the World Youth Honors Choir and Interlochen Singers, as well as members of Interlochen’s faculty and staff.
