Piano Intensive for High School Students

If you are a serious student pianist with collegiate and professional aspirations, the Piano Intensive is an excellent opportunity to spend a week in master classes and private lessons.

Age range: Students currently in grades 9-12
Priority deadline: 
January 14, 2021

During your time here, you will participate in master classes and attend inspiring faculty and guest artist performances. You'll also have classes in historic performance styles, piano technique, memorization, and movement with music. Performance opportunities include student recitals and a possible invitation to perform live on Interlochen Public Radio.

 

Audition Requirements

Please submit video recordings of the following:

  • A substantial work of the student's choice. Example: Prelude & fugue, suite, ballade, scherzo, etc.
  • Any etude by Chopin, Moszkowski, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, or Debussy.
  • A movement from a sonata by Haydn, Mozart, or Beethoven.
