Novel Writing Intensive for High School Students

The Novel Writing Intensive is a highly-selective, one-week program for serious young writers who have completed at least 50 pages of a novel manuscript. Students will work one-on-one with a published novelist who will introduce them to the foundational skills and strategies unique to novel-writing, including dramatic structure, characterization, and plot.

Program length: 1 week
Program dates:
June 19, 2021 to June 25, 2021
Tuition: $1,625
Age range: Students currently in grades 9-12
Priority deadline:
January 14, 2021

During the program, students will spend their days in The Writing House, a beautiful and inspiring space built specifically to meet the needs of young writers. View 360-degree virtual tour

Through guided readings, writing exercises, and consultation sessions, students will leave the Novel Writing Intensive with a deeper sense of their strengths and areas in need of improvement, as well as an individualized plan for completing their manuscript. The intensive will culminate with a public presentation and reading by the students.
