Instructor of Dance, Interlochen Arts Camp
Sophie Amundson is in the BFA program at George Mason University studying modern dance and choreography. She began her training in Los Angeles, California, studying ballet, contemporary, and jazz. She has participated in many dance intensive programs including; The Alvin Ailey School, Hubbard Street, Batsheva, NW Dance Project, and BODYTRAFFIC. Ms. Amundson began her high school career at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts before transferring to Interlochen Arts Academy, where she graduated in 2018. While at Interlochen, she had the privilege to perform in repertoire such as the Nutcracker (Arabian soloist), A Choreographic Offering by Jose Limon, Janis and Joe (soloist) by Christopher Flemming, and Rodeo by Agnes De Mille. Amundson aspires to be a choreographer and hopes to inspire others to express themselves through dance.
