Ryan Phipps

Ryan Phipps is a diverse artist from Anaheim, CA, who has dedicated his life to presenting musical research through the voice of the cello. A naturalized West Virginian, Ryan holds a B.A. in Cello Performance from Marshall University, and is working on a M.M. at West Virginia University where he is the teaching assistant of Dr. Erin Ellis. Ryan has performed in master classes with artists such as Mark Summer, Brant Taylor, Pacifica Quartet, and JACK Quartet. He has been a substitute cellist with Huntington Symphony, River Cities Symphony, and Charleston Chamber Orchestra. He has performed in various halls throughout the eastern United States, including Carnegie Hall, NYC. Chamber music and new music are of equal interest and importance to Ryan, and he enjoys any opportunity to combine the two. Past teachers include Cynthia Puls and Sölen Dikener.
