About Katherine

Katherine Jordan has served as fourth horn of the Boston Ballet Orchestra since 2020. Previously, she held the second horn position with the Sarasota Orchestra and Associate Principal position with the Sarasota Opera Orchestra. Jordan can be heard regularly performing with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the New Jersey Symphony, and has had numerous previous engagements with The Florida Orchestra, North Carolina Symphony, and the Naples Philharmonic.

She has participated in various chamber music festivals including the Atlantic Music Festival, the Sarasota Music Festival, and the Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival. Internationally, Jordan has performed throughout Europe and East Asia with ensembles Curtis on Tour, the New York Symphonic Ensemble, the Lucerne Academy Orchestra, and most recently with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra during their summer 2023 European tour.

Additionally, Jordan enjoys the close collaboration of chamber music. She is a founding member of the Gotham Wind Quintet and has collaborated both with the Talea Ensemble in New York City and Alarm Will Sound. As an Interlochen Arts Camp faculty member since 2018, she frequently performs in a wide range of chamber ensembles in the summer.

During our short intensive at Interlochen, I help students improve their ear training skills, develop more detailed practice goals, and explore mental strategies for performance.
