Greg Hellems returns to Interlochen after a brief hiatus. His career stretches several decades, including performance, production work, and teaching. A full professor at Wright State University, Greg has worked on dozens of productions. Recent direction or direction/choreography include: The Mystery of Edwin Drood, 9 to 5, and Hot Mikado. Other WSU titles: Oklahoma, Funny Girl, Death of Salesman, Aida, and Ragtime, and conceiving, co-writing and directing a new musical, Miss Mayor, which was presented at The Puzzle Festival in New York. Regional projects include: Sex with Strangers, The Glass Menagerie and Band Geeks! all with the Human Race Theatre Company. Spring Awakening with Columbus Children’s Theatre, staging Leonard Bernstein’s Mass for The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, and Assistant Director to Tina Landau, Director, on Sycamore Trees at the Signature Theatre in Washington D.C. Other work includes creator/director/choreographer for national and international theme parks, cruise lines, and industrial clients.
