Autumn West, soprano, enjoys an active career in opera, oratorio, and concert performance. She received her Bachelors degree from Northwestern University and her Masters and Doctoral degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Her Doctoral degree includes specializations in arts administration and vocal pedagogy.
West's professional engagements have seen her perform with Cincinnati Opera, Sugar Creek Opera, Cincinnati Chamber Opera, Queen City Opera, Roundabout Opera for Kids Cincinnati, the Carnegie Theater of Covington, Kentucky, and the Chamber Orchestra Kremlin from Moscow, Canterbury Voices, the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, the Kemp Concert Series, Tactus Vocal Ensemble, the Vocal Arts Ensemble, Painted Sky Opera, among others.
West is a committed music educator, serving as Assistant Professor of Voice at the Wanda Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University, where she teaches a studio of undergraduate and graduate Musical Theater and Voice majors. During the summer of 2018, she was selected as one of twelve early career voice teachers to participate in the prestigious NATS Internship. She has also served on the voice faculty at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. Additionally, as a graduate assistant in voice at CCM during her doctoral coursework, she worked with students in the renowned Musical Theater and Drama programs both privately and as a classroom instructor. Internationally, West served on the faculty at an intensive on Musical Theater technique and style with students at the Tianjin Conservatory of Music in Tianjin, China.
An active arts administrator, in 2013 West co-founded Cincinnati Chamber Opera, a company devoted to showcasing rarely-performed operatic gems in non-traditional venues, presenting opera in a current, accessible, and relevant way. She currently serves as Executive and Artistic Director for this organization.
