Intermediate Theatre Ensemble Summer Program

In the three-week theatre ensemble program for grades 6-9, students are trained in acting, movement, and vocal technique and apply these skills to the fundamentals of drama, storytelling, collaboration, and personal expression.

Program length: 3 weeks
Program dates:
June 21, 2014 to July 12, 2014
July 13, 2014 to August 4, 2014
Tuition: $4,765
Age range: Grades 6-9

Instructors guide students through a process called "devised theatre" that involves a variety of acting, movement, voice, and improvisation exercises, resulting in a fully realized, student-invented stage performance.

This year students will be devising a theatrical performance based on the stories of "The Brothers Grimm."

Theatre Ensemble students participate in the following activities and classes:

  • Four hours of daily rehearsals.
  • Acting Technique class.
  • One elective class (view list)

Intermediate Theatre Ensemble emphasizes collaboration and every student admitted to the program will perform in a featured role in the culminating production.

Audition Requirements

Prepare two monologues and submit these as two (2) video audition files containing one (1) monologue each from published plays of your choice. One monologue should be comic and the other serious (1-2 minutes in length.)
