In the intermediate theatre ensemble summer program, you will study acting, movement, and vocal technique, and apply these skills while rehearsing and presenting a public performance at the end of the session.
Below are examples of past instructors; 2018 faculty will be announced in the spring.
This program focuses on the fundamentals of drama, storytelling, collaboration, and personal expression. Instructors guide students through a process of "devised theatre," that involves a variety of acting, movement, voice, and improvisation exercises. The result is a fully realized, student-invented stage performance in which every student performs a featured role.
Each day, you will have four hours of rehearsal and an acting technique class. You'll round out your experience with one elective class, which may be in theatre, or you can use the opportunity to explore another art form. View list of elective class options.
Prepare two monologues from published plays of your choice and submit these as two (2) video files containing one (1) monologue each. One monologue should be comic and the other serious, and each should be 1-2 minutes in length.
Students with moderate to advanced theatre experience may also be interested in the six-week acting company production program.
