Overview

The percussion institute provides opportunities for highly motivated students to work with world-class faculty in many different percussion disciplines. Master classes and ensemble opportunities will be available on marimba, timpani, ethnic instruments, drum set and orchestral percussion.

Participants will:

  • Perform in master classes
  • Have individualized learning opportunities with an institute faculty member
  • Play in a variety of ensembles

This program requires an application and a letter of recommendation (see below for details). 1) Complete the online application. 2) Upload your letter of recommendation to Slideroom at http://interlochen.slideroom.com.

Required Materials: 

 

Applicants should submit a letter of recommendation from private teacher or band director that outlines the student’s motivation, skill level, and note reading proficiency.

Applicants who apply by February 1 will be notified of admission decisions by April 1. Later applicants will be notified on a rolling basis.
