Designed for the serious young oboist, the one-week oboe institute is an outstanding opportunity for you to spend a week of intensive study with internationally known performers and teachers.
Below are examples of past instructors; 2018 faculty will be announced in the spring.
The goal of this program is to help prepare you for further oboe study, in high school and beyond. The oboe institute brings together faculty members and guest artists from major orchestras and music schools, creating a setting that is instructive and inspiring.
You will observe master classes that focus on solo repertoire, etudes, and orchestral works, and have private lessons that focus on your individual needs and goals. Special attention will be given to developing your control, facility, and musicianship, the early stages of reed making, and assistance with instrument maintenance. You will also have the opportunity to attend performances by faculty members and distinguished guest artists of the program.
