High School Oboe Institute (one week)

Designed for the serious young oboist, the one-week oboe institute is an outstanding opportunity for you to spend a week of intensive study with internationally known performers and teachers.

Program length: 1 week
Program dates:
June 15, 2019 to June 21, 2019
Tuition: $1,270
Age range: Students currently in grades 9-12

The oboe institute gives students the opportunity to work with a distinguished faculty of internationally recognized oboe performers and teachers. Aspiring young oboists will enjoy workshops, classes, and observe master classes. The oboe institute will ready you for a healthy summer of growth and steady development as an oboist and will help prepare you for continued success in high school and beyond.

The oboe institute will help you to get the most out of your practice time, strengthen your fundamental playing techniques, develop skills used in reed making, maintain your instrument, understand the collegiate audition process, and connect with other oboists.

Activities include faculty Performances, oboe technique workshops, practice technique workshops, reed making and adjusting classes, oboe ensemble sessions, and personal practice time.

How to Apply

This program does not require an audition, and it enrolls on a first-come, first-served basis—so early application is advised. Experienced players are encouraged to apply to the advanced oboe institute, which is held on the same dates and includes master class participation.
