The Advanced Oboe Institute is an unparalleled opportunity for serious young oboists with professional aspirations to spend a week of intensive study with internationally known performers and teachers.
Daily master classes will focus on solo repertoire, etudes and orchestral works with special attention given to preparation for college and conservatory auditions. Master classes will include repertoire the participants have prepared in advance. A pianist will be provided for repertoire requiring accompaniment.
Students will attend performances by faculty members and distinguished guest artists.
Each student will receive private lessons. Special attention will be additionally given to reed work and instrument maintenance.

Applicants who submit an audition to the Advanced Oboe Institute may be considered for the Oboe Institute.
Students interested in a multi-week, ensemble-based program are invited to also apply to the high school summer orchestra and wind symphony program, which begins immediately after this one-week institute.
Interlochen is also home to the Arts Academy boarding high school, which offers an oboe major for grades 9-12, as well as a post-graduate year.
