Kick off your summer with an intensive, 3-week study of the classical guitar. You’ll work with world-class faculty, challenge yourself with exciting solo and ensemble repertoire, and explore the nuts-and- bolts of guitar technique.
Guitar Techniques explores the tools that are commonly utilized by modern classical guitarists. You'll work on developing accuracy and speed through the study of scales, chords, arpeggios, slurs, rasgueados, and much more.
Guitar Ensemble is an opportunity to study and perform chamber music for the guitar in small and large ensemble settings. You'll develop critical skills for playing in group settings such as collaborative interpretations, rhythm, and sight- reading.
Classical Guitar A/V Club is a music appreciation course, but with the guitar front and center. You’ll watch, listen to, and discuss some of the greatest moments in the history of classical guitar, and discover a few hard-to- find gems that are exclusive to Interlochen's Bonisteel Library.
Fretboard Harmony applies music theory and ear training concepts to the guitar. You’ll develop an understanding of intervals, chords, inversions, and how to apply that knowledge in a practical way on the instrument.
Private lessons and dedicated practice time will also be incorporated into the course schedule.
