This program is open to students who will complete grades 9-12 during the 2009-10 school year.

Overview

This course is an intensive two-week seminar that covers the fundamentals of audio recording. Students completing the program will have an understanding of the principles of sound and audio and will be capable of using sophisticated electronics to make a high quality recording.

Program Details

Classes include lectures, sound-playback and discussions. Also, hands-on demonstrations will allow students to utilize and explore sophisticated audio equipment. A final recording project will encourage students to apply what they have learned to record an ensemble (string quartet) and make a CD to take home as an example of their work.

Audition Requirements

No audition is required. However, applicants must have a minimum of two years playing experience on their instrument and the ability to read music.
