General Arts Summer Program for Grades 3-6

If you would like to explore different art forms as well as the natural environment, the junior General Arts program is a wonderful summer experience. During your time here, you will live and learn with students from all over the world who share your love of learning and creativity.

July 10, 2016 to July 23, 2016
July 24, 2016 to August 6, 2016

Age range: Students currently in grades 3-6

The General Arts program includes one required classes and four electives. The required class is:

  • In Environmental Exploration class, you will explore Interlochen's rich natural setting through fun hands-on investigations and games that simulate aspects of our environment.

You will also choose one visual arts elective, one music elective, and one additional elective in an area of your choice.

  • One visual arts elective. Options may include drawing/painting, printmaking, and ceramics

  • One music elective. Options may include choir or instrument exploration

  • One elective from ballet technique, modern dance, acting exploration, and creative writing

  • One additional elective (see elective options).

Electives are chosen after enrollment, and are based on schedule availability.

This program does not require an audition or portfolio. It enrolls on a first-come, first-served basis, so your early application is advised
