Harpist, Sylvia Norris is an Interlochen Arts Camp alumni as well as a harp instructor for ten summers. She currently holds the position of principle harp with the West Michigan Symphony, the Traverse Symphony Orchestra and the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra and has played with the Detroit Symphony as well as held the position of second harpist with the Grand Rapids Symphony for seventeen years. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, she holds degrees in harp performance and music education, and was a student of Eileen Malone. Other teachers include Nancy Allen, Suzanne Balderston and Lauralee Campbell.
