Steven Lorenz is the director of choirs at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the 2011 National GRAMMY Signature School, where he directs four curricular choirs, oversees seven extra-curricular choirs, and teaches advanced placement music theory. In addition, Mr. Lorenz conducts Measure for Measure, a 95-voice community men's choir based in Ann Arbor. Choirs prepared by Mr. Lorenz have appeared at the American Choral Directors Association central division convention, American Choral Directors Association Michigan state convention, Intercollegiate Men's Choruses seminar, Michigan Music Conference, and Michigan Youth Arts Festival. Mr. Lorenz has conducted Regional and State Honors Choirs in Michigan and in 2014 the A Cappella Choir was named the Outstanding Choir. He holds degrees from Michigan State University (M.M.) and Carleton College (B.A.), studying conducting with Jonathan Reed and Lawrence Burnett. Mr. Lorenz currently serves as President-Elect of the Michigan School Vocal Music Association and Vice President of the Intercollegiate Men's Choruses, Inc.
