Shannon Alvis

Instructor of Dance, Interlochen Arts Camp

Originally from Greenwood, Indiana, Shannon danced professionally with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago for nine years. During her time in Chicago, she not only shared her artistry with the community there, but also toured internationally dancing works by many world renowned choreographers such as: Jiri Kylian, Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin, Jorma Elo, Marguerite Donlon, Twyla Tharp, Daniel Ezralow, Kevin O'Day, Margo Sappington, and Johan Inger. Shannon left HSDC after being asked by artistic director Jim Vincent to join Nederlands Dans Theater to further her growth and career as a dancer in Europe. After three years with the company in Holland, Shannon gave birth to a baby girl, and is now enjoying her time back in the States as a Mom.
