Rob performed and recorded with the UNT One O'clock Lab Band from 1986-89. Upon leaving UNT he performed with the Woody Herman Jazz Orchestra, then toured with jazz organist Charles Earland. He has performed with many jazz greats such as Randy Brecker, Dave Liebman, Jimmy Cobb, Terry Lyne Carrington, Ira Sullivan, Frank Tiberi, Bobby Shew, Bob Mintzer, Phil Woods, to name a few. He appears on more than twenty recordings as a sideman on trumpet as well as tenor/soprano saxophones. He has taught jazz studies at St. Francis Xavier University (Nova Scotia), Michigan State University, University of Miami, University of North Carolina-Greensboro, and Central Michigan University.
