Pierce Kagari Emata is an independent teacher based in Las Vegas, Nevada. He received his Bachelor and Master's degrees in Piano Performance at Indiana University, coaching with Alfonso Montecino, John Ogdon, and Gyorgy Sebok. He has coached with John Simms, Loran Olsen, and Istvan Nadas.

Mr. Emata is active as a solo performer and adjudicator for numerous competitions and music festivals across the country. In November 2017 he was invited to serve on the jury for the biennial National India MusiQuest Piano Competition. He is well known through many parts of the Midwestern and Western U.S. for his popular Concerts & Conversation series. His performances have also been broadcast over NPR affiliate stations in Washington, Nevada, Idaho and South Dakota Public Radio.

In late 2019 he will release his next CD, titled Healing Vibrations, following in the footsteps of his previous CD, "From the Hands to the Heart."
