Mary Christa is an educator, actor, director, and improviser currently teaching middle school English Language Arts and Theatre, as well as acting and directing with Ensemble Theatre of Chattanooga. Mary Christa has spent several years working with the Muse of Fire Project, based on the 52nd Project’s youth programs, inspiring young playwrights to bring their imaginations to the stage as an actor and mentor. Her primary graduate research centered on the correlation between adolescent arts participation and academic achievement. She is elated to mark her twelfth year at Interlochen, her eleventh working with Juniors, and her first co-directing the Junior Theatre Production. Mary Christa has worked extensively both behind the scenes and on the stage on such productions as Dancing at Lughnasa, All My Sons, Talking With…, Seven, and original plays inspired by art with the "Casting the Canvas" series in conjunction with Hunter Museum of American Art.
