Marcia Hetrick is from Carmel, Indiana and began dancing at age 13, training with Central Indiana Dance Ensemble. Marcia attended the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, pursuing a double major in piano performance and ballet. Her love of ballet led her to focus solely on it where, in 2011, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.F.A. in Ballet. Marcia has danced professionally with Kentucky Ballet Theatre, Ballet Theatre Midwest, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Ballet Montana, and Traverse City Dance Project. Currently, Ms. Hetrick is in her fifth season with Dayton Ballet. Some of her favorite roles include "Bourree" from Stuart Sebastian's Mozart Dances, Principal Ballerina in Gerald Arpino's Birthday Variations, Lead Turkish Delight in Karen Russo Burke's The Nutcracker, "Danny Diamond Pas" in Stephen Mills' Five Flights Up, "Nervous Waltz Pas" in Stephen Mill's Fast Company, Le Corsaire Pas de Deux, Spring Waters Pas de Deux, and White Swan Pas de Deux. In contrast to her ballet career, Marcia is also a licensed Zumba® instructor and loves helping others dance into a healthy lifestyle! She thanks her family for their continual love and support.
