Marcia Hetrick

Instructor of Dance, Interlochen Arts Camp

Dayton Ballet

B.F.A., Ballet, University of Cincinnati

Marcia Hetrick is from Carmel, Indiana and began dancing at age 13, training with Central Indiana Dance Ensemble under the direction of Suzann DeLay. Upon graduation from high school, Marcia attended the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, pursuing a double major in piano performance and ballet. Her love of ballet led her to focus solely on it where, in 2011, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Ballet. While attending UC, Marcia had the privilege of dancing professionally with Kentucky Ballet Theatre, Ballet Theatre Midwest, as an apprentice with North Carolina Dance Theatre for the 2009-10 season, and as a trainee with Dayton Ballet for the 2010-11 season. Currently, Ms. Hetrick is in her fourth season with Dayton Ballet. Some of her favorite roles include "Bourree" from Stuart Sebastian's Mozart Dances, "Pas de Deux" from Gerald Arpino's Birthday Variations, "Lead Turkish Delight" in Karen Russo Burke's The Nutcracker, "Danny Diamond Pas" in Stephen Mills' Five Flights Up, "Nervous Waltz Pas" in Stephen Mill's Fast Company, Le Corsaire Pas de Deux, and Spring Waters Pas de Deux. In contrast to her ballet career, Marcia is also a licensed Zumba® instructor and loves helping others dance into a healthy lifestyle! She thanks her family for their continual love and support.
