Lauren Rice received her BA in Studio Art from Knox College and her MFA in Painting from American University. Rice is currently an instructor at The College for Creative Studies as well as Henry Ford Community College and the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center in Detroit. Recently, her work has been curated into exhibitions such as Paper Trail: Selections from Transformer Gallery's Flat Files at Heineman Myers Contemporary Art and Girlish Ways: The Next Generation of Female Artists at The Bobby Fisher Memorial Building in Washington, DC. She has exhibited in venues in New York City, Chicago, DC, Detroit, Baltimore and Atlanta. She currently lives and works in Detroit, MI.
