Karen Croner

Karen Croner began her film career producing and directing documentary films. Croner made her feature screenwriting debut with Universal's One True Thing starring Meryl Streep and Renée Zellweger. Her recent feature credits also include Admission for Focus Features starring Tina Fey and Paul Rudd and the upcoming The Tribes of Palos Verdes starring Jennifer Garner and Maika Monroe, which Croner also produced. Croner's television work includes the CBS telefilms Scattered Dreams, starring Tyne Daly, and Big Dreams & Broken Hearts: The Dottie West Story; and, for TNT, the film Cold Sassy Tree, starring Faye Dunaway. Karen has also worked as a “script doctor” for all the major studios. Karen is currently writing the TNT TV series, War Torn, and the limited TV series, The Displaced, for Killer Films.  Upcoming feature projects include Daughter of the Queen of Sheba to be produced with NPR’s Jacki Lyden, The Island Where People Forget to Die produced by Michael London, and Girl Soldier, starring Uma Thurman.  Croner has a B.A. in American Studies from UC Berkeley  and an M.F.A. from the USC School of Cinema Television. Karen lives in Santa Monica.
