ohn Ernst is dedicated to the art of music composition and shares his love of music with his wife Sara, pianist and pedagogue. Recent works have been performed at the University of Oklahoma, Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall, and the Odyssey Chamber Music Series in Columbia, Missouri. Ernst was the winner of the 2006 Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Composition Competition. Ernst received degrees from the University of Oklahoma and the University of Missouri-Columbia and studied composition with Marvin Lamb, W. Thomas McKenney, and Stefan Freund.
