Jeremy Allen teaches bass and directs large and small jazz ensembles at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He has performed with Fred Hersch, Bob Brookmeyer’s New Art Orchestra, Randy Brecker, Tim Hagans, Eric Alexander, Rich Perry, George Garzone, and many other jazz luminaries. Mr. Allen can be heard on releases by Bob Brookmeyer and Kenny Wheeler, the Luke Gillespie Trio, the AHA! Quintet, Ritmos Unidos, Sara Caswell, the Dave Lisik Jazz Orchestra, the Corey Christiansen Group, and many others.
Allen has been invited to perform at the Terni (Italy) Jazz Festival, the International Association of Jazz Educators Conferences in New York City and Toronto, the Jazz Educator's Network Conventions in St. Louis, Louisville, and Atlanta, the Iowa City Jazz Festival, and at the United Nations headquarters. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Indiana University and a master’s degree in jazz performance from the New England Conservatory.
