Jamie A. Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Utah Valley University. After attending the University of Utah and earning a BFA in Ballet and a BA in English, she danced professionally with numerous companies throughout the United States. Highlights include dancing as a principal dancer with Boulder Ballet and touring internationally with MOMIX, under the direction of Moses Pendleton. Other professional credits include performing with Sacramento Ballet, Ballet Pacifica, and Chamber Dance Ensemble. An in-demand educator and choreographer, Ms. Johnson’s work has been presented by Interlochen Center for the Arts, St. Paul Ballet, Utah Metropolitan Ballet, and West Texas A & M University. As a dance scholar, Johnson explores inclusion and embodied learning. Her research has been presented nationally and internationally for the National Dance Education Organization, World Dance Alliance, and the American College Dance Festival. She was recently published in the Journal of Dance Education. Ms. Johnson holds a MFA in Dance from the University of Washington with additional certifications in Autism Movement Therapy and Yoga.
