Flutist David Fedele is the recipient of many honors including the Young Concert Artist International Award, the Olga Koussevitsky Competition of the Musicians Club of New York, a top prize in the Second Kobe International Flute Competition in Japan and first prize in the New York Flute Club Competition. Mr. Fedele has performed and recorded with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, The Group for Contemporary Music, The Manhattan Sinfonietta, Ensemble 21, The Steve Reich Ensemble, Bang on a Can and The New Music Consort. Mr. Fedele concertizes with Trio Fedele, with cellist, Matthew Herren and pianist, Dan Velicer. In 2006 Trio Fedele released the world-premiere recording of Liebermann’s Trios 1 and 2 and the Sonata for Flute and Piano or Artek records. Mr. Fedele is a graduate of The Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School where he studied with Julius Baker. Currently, Mr. Fedele serves as Associate Professor of Flute at The University of Kansas.
