Ariel Strong

Ariel Hansen Strong is a book artist, printmaker, and designer residing in San Francisco, CA. She received her MFA in Book Art and Creative Writing from Mills College in December, 2015. Her interest in artists' books began while she was studying sculpture at the San Francisco Art Institute. A former ballet dancer (IAA '06) and ceramic artist, Strong values the mediums of printmaking and artist books for their the limitless natures and inherent interdisciplinary qualities. She is teaching printmaking, drawing/painting, and cartooning at Interlochen Arts Camp.

Strong's work has been exhibited nationwide, and is included in Special Collections Libraries at University of California in Berkeley, Washington University, Baylor University, and Mills College. She was an Artist-in-Residence at the Kala Institute of Art in Berkeley, CA in September 2015. Strong recently attended the Paper & Book Intensive at OxBow in Saugatuck, MI, as a Nell Meldahl Work-Study Scholarship recipient.
