Andrea Maio

Andrea Maio is a filmmaker, writer and radio producer. She is an alumni of Interlochen Arts Academy (96') and holds her MFA in Filmmaking from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her radio work has been featured on IPR's This American Life and her film and video work has screened at festivals and art galleries around the world. She has taught film, both Documentary and Experimental, at The University of Wisconsin- Peck School of the Arts and the University of Missouri. She was a guest artist at the University of Michigan school of Art and Design where she developed a one woman multi-media documentary performance about her year spent living with boat punks on the Mississippi River. Her current projects include a documentary web series about sustainable artisan foods and and a radio documentary about a controversial scientist's struggles with the FDA during the McCarthy era. This will be her 7th summer season at Interlochen.
