Motion picture arts provides students with a progressive and interdisciplinary experience in filmmaking. Students will develop a deeper understanding of visual storytelling and the fundamental components of cinema in screenwriting and production. All fully completed works are featured in an end of camp showcase in the DeRoy Center for Film Studies.
Facilities
This DeRoy Center for Film Studies is a state-of-the-art facility that houses the Motion Picture Arts program. It is the first and only building of its kind dedicated to film education at the secondary school level.
Centrally located on Interlochen's scenic campus, the 26,000 square foot DeRoy Center fully integrates and supports the aesthetic, creative and experiential study of film. It includes a film studio, editing and production areas and a state-of-the-art screening room.
