Overview
Through a competitive audition process, string musicians will be selected for this intensive program designed for the highly skilled and motivated string player. All Advanced String Program students will participate in a final performance at the end of the session.
Program Details
An organized warm-up is how musicians begin their day followed by a two-hour string orchestra rehearsal. Sectionals, music theory and movement exercises are taught on a schedule that rotates daily. Private lessons are given to campers once a week and on non-lesson days, musicians will have time to practice.
Daily chamber music activities give campers the opportunity to participate in string quartets while participants may also have the opportunity to audit master classes and receive coaching from visiting guest artists. A practice hour provides musicians with additional daily practice time. Electives are not offered with this program.
