Overview
Intermediate vocal students will perform in choirs, small ensembles and music dramas. Students develop performance skills through the Intermediate Vocal Ensemble, which emphasizes literature that is appropriate for adolescents. Vocal Arts students also participate in an opera-workshop class. Solo and small ensemble skills are combined with experiences in theatre to create an operetta production.
Program Details
Intermediate Vocal Ensemble performs advanced choral literature for young vocal musicians. All students in this ensemble are enrolled in the Vocal Arts Program. Intermediate Choir is a larger ensemble experience that includes singers from across the camp. Students participate in sight-singing and music theory classes to improve all-around musicianship skills. An operetta workshop is a two-period block where students work on solos, small ensembles and theatre skills. The workshop culminates with an operetta performance. There is one additional elective available.
Note: Private voice lessons are not available to Intermediate students.
