This program is open to students who will complete grades 6-9 during the 2009-10 school year.

Admission: 

Admission is granted on a first-come, first-served basis, and full enrollment can be reached before the February 1 priority deadline so early application is encouraged. Applicants will be notified of admission on a rolling basis.

Overview

Students enrolled in the two-dimensional arts studio focus on working with a variety of two-dimensional media including printmaking, digital photography, papermaking and book arts. Students will learn about historical and cultural aspects of these processes and have an opportunity to explore how these factors affect creativity and image-making. Students will also explore how these media are related and will have a chance to create interdisciplinary works.

Details

Two-Dimensional Arts Studio is a two-period class that allows for individualized exploration of materials and techniques. This program also includes Visual Arts Hour, one 3-D visual arts elective and two additional electives (view list).
