Overview

The intermediate harp program promotes serious individual study as well as ensemble skills and experience. Concentration on the student’s musical growth and solo repertoire extends from the private lessons to studio classes. The classes will provide performance opportunities, practice help and work with general musical topics and techniques, as well as appearances from distinguished guest artists. The large ensemble aspect of the program will support other performing groups: orchestras, wind ensembles and choirs. An in-depth harp ensemble structure is also an integral part of the curriculum. Rotation of the harpists for the camp ensembles will allow for quality practice time and preparation for student recitals, when appropriate.

How to Apply: 

This program requires an application and an audition. 1) Prepare the materials listed below. 2) Complete the online application. 3) Upload your audition materials to Slideroom at http://interlochen.slideroom.com.

Online applications are strongly encouraged, though students may also apply by mail.

Required Materials: 

Prepare two audio or video audition files and submit them to Interlochen.Slideroom.com.

Audio or Video Files 1 and 2: Two solo works of contrasting style. There is no required repertoire for intermediate applicants but the audition should demonstrate the applicant’s overall ability. Piano accompaniment is optional.
