This program is open to students who will complete grades 9-12 during the 2009-10 school year.

Admission: 

Applicants who apply by February 1 will be notified of admission decisions no later than April 1. Late applicants will be notified on a rolling basis, if openings remain. Please note that High School Theatre programs reach full enrollment quickly, so early application is strongly encouraged.

Overview

Students participate in a company ensemble that produces at least one large-cast, non-musical play from classical or contemporary theatrical repertoire, with full design and technical support.

Details

This program includes the following classes: Repertory Theatre Rehearsal, Acting Technique, Theatre Topics and one optional additional elective (view list).

Audition Requirements

  • Prepare one contemporary monologue (from a published play) and one monologue from Shakespeare.
  • Record the above requirements on a standard full-size VHS tape (US format) or DVD (preferred).
  • Submit the audition and label the recording and its casing with the applicant's full name, presented repertoire and the program notation "H.S. Repertory Theatre Production."
